CHOCOLATE CAKE

Chocolate Cake




Ingredients

All purpose flour – 2 ¾ cups
Unsweetened cocoa powder – 1 cup
White sugar – 2 ¼ cups
Softened butter – 1 cup
Eggs – 4
Baking soda – 2 tsp
Baking powder – ½ tsp
Vanilla extract – 1 ½ tsp
Cashew nuts –a few
Boiling water – 2 cup
Salt – ½ tsp

Directions
1. Take cocoa powder in a bowl. Pour boiling water over it and whisk until it is smooth. Allow it to cool.
2. Sift together flour, baking soda , baking powder and salt; set aside.
3. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
4. Beat in eggs, one at a time, then stir in vanilla. Add the flour mixture alternately with cocoa mixture. Spread batter evenly in baking pans greased with butter and put cashew nut pieces on top of the batter.
5. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C)
6. Bake in preheated oven for 25 – 30 minutes. Allow it to cool.
